MAHA began with a request for proposal from the Bader Foundation. The YWCA combined their expertise in placing skilled job seekers with Milwaukee AHEC’s proficiency in diversifying the healthcare workforce (month) 2008. In January 2009, after receiving a grant from the Bader Foundation, YWCA of Greater Milwaukee and Milwaukee AHEC united, combining their strengths to form MAHA.
